Brian Kane -- Guitar
|
I have been working steadily as a band leader and sideman for over a decade. In addition to playing locally, I have also perfomed and recorded with Victoria Williams and Mark Olson.
My playing has been influenced by greats like Kenny Burrell, Oscar Moore, and Les Paul. I love the great innovators of the electric guitar, and try to live up to their standards!
For booking information please contact me at brian@browsebriankane.com or click on the email link in the margin. I'm available for club dates, festivals, casuals, weddings, private events -- you name it!!!
Here are some MP3s of various bands and musicians I have worked with regularly, as well as a few unusual oddities and curiosities.

THE BLUE ROOM BOYS - a fabulous swing band. We've been together almost a decade. A great band for clubs, swing dancing, and weddings.
You can get info on the band and hear more at www.blueroomboys.com. Here are a few tracks that feature the guitarist!

THE JASON MYERS TRIO - This is a sophisticated trio with an unusual instrumentation: piano, guitar and bass. We have a huge repertoire and try to give each tune a unique arrangement. Much of the inspiration comes from Nat King Cole, George Shearing, Oscar Peterson, et al. Check out Jason's website at www.keyplayermusic.com.

Honeysuckle Rose - a nice arrangement. Check out the last chorus!

VICTORIA WILLIAMS - I've been blessed to record and perform with Victoria Williams. She's one of the best songwriters I've ever heard, with an absolutely unique style and voice. The first two tracks come from Victoria Williams Sings Some Ol' Songs, a record she and I co-produced over a few years. Check out Victoria at www.creekdipper.com.

| Blue Skies - we gave this old classic a dark and moody treatment. |

| And Roses and Roses - we found this amazing song on an Astrud Gilberto record. I played guitar and bass clarinet on this one, as well as arranging the strings and horns. |

AND/ORNETTE - Here is a track from a few years back where I'm playing alto saxophone in an Ornette Coleman cover band. Yes, you heard right -- an Ornette cover band!
